Horticulture Consulting:
AgFirst Hawke’s Bay has a great team of consultants plus technicians and support staff, specialising in horticultural consultancy. The main focus is in the pipfruit, grapes, kiwifruit and summer fruit sectors and related environmental issues. Their wide range of skills means the team offers a range of services to clients ranging from one-to-one ‘orchard walks’, through to technology transfer at a national level.
In summary, the AgFirst Hawke’s Bay Horticulture team provide:

Pastoral Consulting:
Our pastoral team cover a full range of consulting to the sheep, beef, deer and environmental sectors of agriculture.
In particular, our team are experts in:
• Objective land use evaluation (experts in modelling farms to determine best land use in order to achieve environmental sustainability and profitability goals).
• FARMAX professionals across all services.
• Geo-spatial modelling.
• Expert witness work and mediation involving leases, farm sales, financial viability, loans and governance issues.
• Succession work and farm transitions across the whole range of primary industries (horticulture and agriculture).
AgFirst Pastoral are leading the Catch Crop Sediment Mitigation Group project: www.catchcrop.nz. This group is undertaking research in developing mitigation and sustainable solutions for reducing sediment and nutrient losses in winter crops.
