Jardine brings a practical, science-based approach to helping farmers navigate environmental challenges  and achieve positive outcomes for their businesses and the wider environment.

Originally from the Far North, Jardine grew up on a small avocado orchard before her family relocated to the  Rangitīkei and purchased a dairy farm. This experience gave her an early appreciation of farming, rural communities and the relationship between productive land use and the natural environment.

Her interest in the environment led her to the University of Otago, where she completed a  Bachelor of Science majoring in Physical Geography and Zoology. She later worked with the Hawaiian Institute of Marine Biology as part of its Community Education Programme, before returning to Otago to complete a Master of  Applied Science endorsed in Environmental Management.

Jardine's professional experience spans both the agricultural and regulatory sectors. She has worked as an Agri-Manager with Ravensdown and as an Environmental Protection Officer with Marlborough District Council, giving her a strong understanding of both on-farm realities and environmental requirements.

Now with AgFirst Manawatū-Whanganui, Jardine works alongside farmers and the wider rural community to support practical, achievable environmental improvements. She particularly enjoys helping farmers understand how farm systems interact with the natural environment and developing solutions that balance environmental outcomes with productive, resilient farming businesses.
