Sarah grew up on a kumara farm in Dargaville, Northland and therefore has been involved in the Horticulture industry her whole life. She has worked as Staff Supervisor on the farm in the seed beds and from planting through to harvesting.
Sarah studied at Massey University, completing a Bachelor of Science in Plant Science and a Bachelor of Arts in History. These degrees gave Sarah a sound knowledge base of both practical horticultural skills as well as scientific lab skills.
Sarah has joined the Nelson AgFirst team as a Horticultural Consultant in training and looks forward to meeting and working with the local growers, assisting them with growing crops of the highest quality. Her scientific background has given her a good understanding of technical knowledge from the latest research and she’s passionate about supporting growers in applying this to their own orchard management practices.
