Mark is a founding member of AgFirst and has been consulting to pastoral farmers since graduating from Lincoln College with a B Ag Sc degree in 1983. He is also a registered member of the New Zealand Institute of Primary Industry Management.
The initial 3-6 years were spent on the West Coast of the South Island and the Marlborough region working with a mix of dairy, sheep and beef, and deer farmers.
In 1989 Mark settled in Whakatane and since 1995, when AgFirst was created, he has been co-owner of AgFirst Central Ltd centered in Rotorua which is one of 12 AgFirst offices throughout the country.
Mark has a varied portfolio of clients with approximately 20% of time is spent on projects, 20% on farm supervision (Maori Trusts), and 60% on one to one consultancy in three different sectors (Dairy, Sheep and Beef, Deer). His work area encompasses Opotiki to the east, South Waikato to the west, Reporoa to the south and Waihi to the north.
Mark has a number of strengths built up over 35 years of experience with a particular interest in group facilitation, farm business analysis, feed and financial planning, business planning, environmental management.
