Andrew is a consultant with AgFirst Northland, joining the team in February 2021.

Andrew has 8 years of professional agribusiness experience (5 in Northland) though varying roles that include Managing farms, Rural banking and Farm risk-management advice. His mix of hands-on experience and financial knowledge enables him to be able to relate to farmers across the board, from farm managers to corporate directors and shareholders. Andrew was raised on sheep & beef farms in the Manawatu and spent some time involved within agribusiness in the Bay Of Plenty but now calls Northland home.

Ngawhitu Farm, Beef Operation Manager 2020 – 2021
Hands on farm manager running a 450ha intensive bull finishing and dairy replacement operation which ran in conjunction with a 600-cow dairy operation in the Far North. Analysis of feed management, animal health, key infrastructure planning and development, staff management and financial budgeting.

Agribusiness Manager, Rabobank BOP 2017 – 2019
Managed a large and complex portfolio of farmers and growers. Detailed analysis of budgeting and cashflow requirements ranging from dairy, sheep and beef to large-scale greenfield kiwifruit development and existing orchards in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Agribusiness Manager, Westpac Northland 2015 – 2017
Managed a portfolio of farmers and growers in the mid-north with a key emphasis on budgeting and financial management during consecutive drought years. Working closely with farm business to monitor cost control and profitability. Proposals for land purchase and opportunity analysis.
