Nicola Waugh

Nicola has been working as a dairy farm consultant for AgFirst Waikato since early 2008. She has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours (majoring in Agriculture and Agribusiness). Since working with AgFirst Waikato Nicola has been involved in both one-on-one consultancy and various industry projects.


Nicola is involved in the New Zealand Young Farmers Club at a club, district and regional level. Nicola was awarded the 2011 Nuffield scholarship which saw her travel to various parts of Europe, USA, Middle East and South East Asia learning about their agricultural industries. Her Nuffield project investigates the approaches of various countries to environmental issues and provides recommendations of how NZ should approach our water quality issues.



Nicola has to offer:

  • One-to-one on-farm management consultancy providing technical and financial advice, strategic planning, systems analysis, and staff recruitment.
  • Nutrient Management – completed the Intermediate and Advanced Nutrient Management in NZ course
  • Registered Farmax Dairy consultant
  • Trained InCalf Advisor  (reproductive performance)
  • Completed DairyNZ body condition scoring assessment
  • Currently completing the NZ Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Accounting, Mitigation and Emissions Trading course at Massey university.
