Karl also specialises in the development of five year financial and business plans for a wide range of farming clients. He delivers a whole farm consultancy package, and is the Central Otago policy agent for Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

He is also the South Westland Meat New Zealand Monitor Farm Facilitator from August 2006 to present (Sullivan Property), and was the South Westland Meat New Zealand Monitor Farm Facilitator 2002 to March 2006 (Northcroft Property).

Other projects include the Ida Valley Irrigation SFF Water use efficiency 2002 to 2006, Co-facilitator of Central Otago Meat & Wool New Zealand Monitor Farm, Tiger hill 2001-2003, Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry farm monitoring: Otago Dry Hill model leader, and the South Island Merino model contributor.
