This is a great Hawke’s Bay based career opportunity for two people wanting to make their mark in the New Zealand horticultural scene. Established in 1995, AgFirst is New Zealand’s largest independent and successful team of Horticultural and Agricultural Consultants. They have a proven and extensive track-record in providing management advice and solutions throughout the country and offshore, and you will be coming into an established portfolio of significant clients and really interesting projects.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be taking the lead with clients, both established and new. You will be providing strategic and technical advice and managing key existing client projects. In tandem, you will be actively identifying new clients throughout the horticulture industry and developing long term relationships that increase revenue streams and increase your professional profile. There is a great deal of opportunity here for you to develop field trial portfolios so expertise in this space would be highly desired. Either way though, AgFirst has well established systems in place that will enable you to provide your current and new clients with a range of service and support that spans business planning and monitoring, through to technical management, budgeting, farm purchase and investment analysis.
As a Graduate, or entry level Consultant, this is your chance to kick-start your consulting career, and learn from the true leaders in the industry.
For both roles it will be ideal that you have a relevant science and horticulture based tertiary qualifications and a well-grounded practical knowledge of horticulture farming systems. Critically, it will be your high-level communication and report writing skills that will set you apart. For the senior role you must have the ability to network and engage new clients. A background interest in climate change and the environment, including water and nutrition will be well accepted by the team. If you have the horticulture industry knowledge and proven work experience then we would love to hear from you. You’ll be hitting the ground running with the support of a very high calibre and engaged team.
